National Referendums Now

Voters should be free to vote their consciences directly on major issues and not have
to be rigidly imprisoned in a two party system that imprisons the voters in rigid party divisions.
The only way for voters to express their consciences on different national political issues is to have them vote directly on really important national issues.

The two party system takes the choices away from the voting people and enchains and imprisons
important choices away from the voting people and puts all decisions into elitist black and white party system. This is not a nation listening to its people on national decisions, but imprisoning voters in politically stereotyped political parties that give the nation no real choice on important issues.

Are we going to give the people a direct vote on important national issues ? Which the people
should have if our nation is going to be a truly democratic society, But in national political parties, decisions are far removed from the voting people in elite, political parties far removed from the voters.

Very few intelligent voters can say they want to vote one hundred percent for one of two
choices on major issues. Sensible reasoning voters generally want to vote on an idea or
bill from each of both political parties. This means the people want to choose some of the good
bills of all political parties, And this is denied them by having to choose all bills from
one party. The people must vote on a large political agenda instead of being able to make individual choices beyond being imprisoned in one of two strict voting political parties.

Now the voters are imprisoned in a limited choice of opposing parties, where both party members often despise and hate the other. And so this has meant a gridlock that would not be if the voting people might vote their ballots directly on the most important national issues.

Shall we have freedom of conscience to pick the particular issues we may like, or will be
as voters be forced to go along passively with one victorious agenda ?

The people create and make the wealth,
But the elites too often control the wealth,
While the people are rarely heard from,
As those those elite who control the wealth,
Too often make the important decisions.

It is the richest elites who fool the people,
Through the media the rich have paid for,
In specious advertising often twisted and warped,
And through contributions of elitist politicians,
The donations that the elite corporations have paid for.

One way for the people to be heard, for a change,
Is through direct voting on important national issues,
Instead of leaving the decisions to politician,
Often bought by corporations and various elite donations.

But the people are not allowed to vote directly on any national issues,
For the decisions must be diverted to elite politicians,
Who have their own private interests and ambitions,
Far beyond listening to the people,
Who are often s thought by them to be a social class beneath them.

So the tragedy of democracy is that it is not truly democratic,
But the major decisions are the plaything of the media, the politicians
With their own private ambitions,
And decisions protected from the people,
Since they are never allowed to vote directly on them.

The truth of course is the nation is not a true democracy,
But more of a plutocracy,
Carefully set up to avoid the people,
By not letting them vote directly on any important national decision,
But letting a plutocracy, the rule of an elite wealthy few,
Parade itself as a real democracy,
When the voters never get to vote directly on any national issue,
Which would truly make the country a real democracy.

It is a largely a matter of Antique Theory versus Modern Reality.
Which need will be met?
Federalism is an often dated and antique theory,
That looks great on paper,
But doesn’t meet the current needs of reality,
Or things IN GOVERNMENT would not be the way they are.
Really out of touch with reality:
And quite happy living and talking 18th century.

Yet what the really modern voters need is to sign petitions,
On the modern issues that are important to them,
And then let them vote in national referendums on the important issues,
That are bothering them,
Which is the most democratic way to go,
As well as the most SENSIBLE !

But,no, the voters under federalism, cannot vote directly on any national issue,
But most vote through often elite, effete and rich politicians,
Obsessed with an antique and dated federal theory,
That doesn’t let the voters truly express themselves.
So every one is talking an outdated theory of federalist government,
That truly does not represent modern REALITY
Or the voters’ current democratic needs.

And so the American voters go, round and round, in voting,
Avoiding the reality of voting straight forward democratic decisions,
In # National Referendums.,
But trying to pretend they live today in the lost times of an antique federalism,
When the voters got to cast no direct vote on any National issue,
And were left to the not too tender mercy of often elite rich politicians
Who decided all and every important issue,
Even though the decisions might be totally out of touch with the voting people.

Even though a politician,
May pay his own campaign expenses,
Or be reimbursed by a government plan for them,
That doesn’t mean he’s not saving for,
A lush retirement in Mexico,
Or a spacious ranch in Abilene,
Or a condo in Hawaii by the sea,
And therefore he has a very special interest,
In saving for his retirement expenses.

The great thing about referendums,
Is they serve the intelligent voters in the middle,
Who do not want to go to extremes
And rigidly follow one political party agenda.

But if we have referendums,
Where the voters get to vote by the issue,
As should be:
Centrists can vote one time for one party’s bill,
And then the next time for another party’s bill.
And you, as a voter, try to be in an intelligent middle,
Instead of always voting with one extremist agenda.

As referendums on each issue,
Offer the voters the opportunity,
To vote in an intelligent middle,
And you can follow your conscience and judgment,
Each time, and not have to follow,
Or vote for an obnoxiously rigid agenda
As happens if you use politicians.

As you see in the present two party system,
Nobody works together,
And the two political parties truly hate and despise each other,
And they do NOT offer anyone a chance to think on their own,
But you might be an intelligent middle thinker,
Who evaluate each key issue as you think fits the situation,
Regardless of party affiliation or origin.

So as an individual voter, are not imprisoned like the present politicians,
In voting for a rigid two party system with nobody in the intelligent middle.
But as we are now,
Caught in a rigid and extremist two party system,
Run by one sided and bigoted politicians,
Who make you choose an either/ or agenda.

But remember that nobody with an open or thinking mind,
Rigidly follows one agenda,
And shuts his or her mind to the other side,
That may have a good point now and then.

As nobody very intelligent blindly follows,
Any one party or system, but thinks each situation through
And votes according to the individual situation and issue.
As I have found when on many commissions and committees,
It is rare, if your opposition,
Does not have at least one good idea or proposal,
That needs to be accommodated or incorporated
In the total legislative picture.

But you can not do this
When you are imprisoned in the two party system,
And recognizing as valid only one party of politicians,
Who must follow a rigid agenda,
Or be penalized by their party of political creed bigots.

But what we need is to vote on the individual issues,
And think each issue through, regardless of party origin,
And what some bigoted political party orders you to do..

So fight for voting through national referendums,
Where you, as a voter, can decide on the issue,
And not be a captive with your mind imprisoned,
By voting through a single party of politicians,
Faithful to their party’s interests.

But should Instead be voting for the national good,
In national referendums, where you vote,
After evaluating the issue according to their national good,,
Even if they do not fit the politician’s yen for Special Interests..

So remember that referendums mean “freedom from politicians,”
Who would vote for their Special Interests and Super pac contributors,
But referendums give you freedom to vote your conscience and opinions,
On each and every important issue.

But don’t let it blow your mind, (as that may happen)
When you first experience voting yourself on a Key Issue,
And do feel enslaved and shut out, (as usual)
By the Special Interests and hyper- materialism of our Washington politicians,
And their accompanying (if corrupt, failing, and obnoxious) Two Party System.

But when you vote through politicians,
You shut out any thinking folks who want to vote in the middle,
Who are neither way extremists who want to follow a rigid agenda,
But are caught in the middle between two opposing sets of bigoted politicians,

And the only way the voting people are going to get any pick or choice on issues,
Is to use referendums and directly voting on the issues,
Where the voters can select some issues from both parties’
Because they are not voting in Congress through one party politicians,
Who do not consider anything broader,
Than their party’s selfish Special Interests.
And that is one reason referendums are badly needed,
As they give the average person a choice when voting on the issues.

But think how much easier referendums will be,
If we use modern technology,
You can vote on line,
Flashing your fingerprints for identification,
And not even leave home.

Or you can vote by telephone,
Wherever you may be,
Just punch the buttons,
And you have voted easily..

Or you can skype your vote,
And use your eye prints to identify you.
Or if you are old time soul,
You can even go the polls.

But consider how much easier it will be,
To vote in a national referendum
Through advanced and modernized technology.

What do you do, as a voter,
When you are caught in a tug of war,
Between two political parties,
Neither of which you love or adore,
Or have much (if any) respect for?

What do you do, (as a voter )
When you are caught in the middle,
Of a fight between two political parties ?
That hate each other !
And you join them in that feeling,
Because you happen to dislike both parties,
And feel they are both overgeneralizing frauds and know- it -alls.

Yet the problem is:
The voters can’t choose the good bill or idea in on party,
And separate it from the other,
But must take all of one party’s agenda,
And none of the other.

Now what would you do ?
Caught in the middle of a political two party system,
Where neither party is effective nor even very candidate selective,
And both parties are at varying degrees of ineffective ?

It seems the only answer left is.
To let the voters vote directly on the issues,
And let them choose the best legislation from either party,
Or maybe draw up an initiative for a referendum,
That will be far more solid and effective to the voters,
An solid bill instead of promises by newly elected politicians.

So, if you’re wise, do try hard to stay outside the two party system,
And try to encourage a new sort of politics,
Where the voter does not have to swallow one party’s entire political agenda,
To get just one improving bill or issue,
But are able to vote on an individual bill or issue according to the needs of conscience,
Without having to endorse the complete agenda of any one party of politicians,
Whose candidates may seem pretty much near the bottom
On the scale of evolution.

As the voters are entrapped, like a school of squirming fish,
Caught and tossing in the political nets of a very flawed two party system,
So broken and unacceptable, it is really too embarrassing to mention!
No matter what the false promises and questionable political power intentions,
Of any seriously evasive and personally ambitious numbers of fishy politicians.

Change doesn’t come overnight,
It takes time to grow into advice,
And to do what is right,
As Americans are growing slowly but definitely growing,
Into the right and good advice,
Which is national referendums are needed
On Key Issues.

As Americans are beginning to realize this.
And one way to tell is by the polling of the people,
Who now approve of voting on Key Issues,
As long as there are sufficient legal voters
To petition for a vote on them.

A Gallup Poll on July 6-7, 2013
Showed 68 percent of the American people,
Were in favor of a vote on Key Issues,
So it is not the voters,
But the political elite or their snob political parties,
Who oppose giving power,
To the voting people to vote directly
On some of the Key Issues.

And since then in 2013, it has been reaffirmed by Gallup,
That around 68 percent were still in favor of national voting
On Key Issues.
But it seems the vote on key issues is being sat upon and silenced,
By elitist politicians who do not want their powers diminished.
And that means the politicians do not really trust the judgment
Of the majority of voters who put them into office.

But I suggest to you,
No matter what the politicians say or may do,
American Democracy eventually comes through,
And something like National Referendums
Or voting by the people on Key Issues will too.

As voting on the important Key issues,
In the most directly democratic method,
Which is for the voting people to decide them,
And that will come through.
While it is only a matter of time,
Until the voters can and will do!

Voting online and through advanced technology,
Is, in the near future,
Going to be done quite easily,
And many locations are already doing it.
As forty one nations are already doing it,
Voting online and quickly,
As well as secretly.
And it is the coming thing of a happier future.

As forty or so organizations and governments,
Already vote on line,
Switzerland was the first,
And the number is growing rapidly,
So we are all going to use advanced technology in voting soon.

It is only a matter of time,
Until we use a more advanced technology to vote,
And then we do not need just to vote through and on politicians,,
We can also vote directly and easily on the major issues.

You may cast your own vote on the important issue !

And if you, the voters at the grass roots level,
Will wake up and insist on your right to vote directly on the issues,
Through advanced technology,
You will find new hope for a much better democracy is here.

Is to enlighten the voting people,
At the grass roots level, to beware of devious politicians,
And so to vote directly themselves on the important issues,
(Now that the means is available, and improving)
Using modern, advanced and up to date technology

Yes, the time is drawing ever near,
If it is not already here,
For we, the people, at long last,
Can enjoy more, better,
And an up to date modernized democracy of the voting people,
Through voting ourselves directly on the major issues,
Rather than sending bills through a legislative sausage grinder
Of very compromising and devious politicians,
Seemingly often out to advance their own special interests!

How does it feel ?
To be forced in a supposedly democratic America,
To take in,
Thousand and thousands of maybe dangerous foreigners,
Without a single vote on the issue,
By American citizens ?

And you, the voters,as usual, are left to the mercy of elite politicians,
Who make all the significant decisions,
Without any direct input from the voting people,
On any of the major issues ( like emigration)
Which decisions are decided above your heads by elite politicians
Without any direct input from the voting people.
Who may be affected directly by the issues.

As the President is only one more politician,
Even if he is the Chief One,
Among the elite politicians who make your decisions,
Without any direct voting approval of the American citizens,
On any important and significant national issue.

Nor do the politicians want any approval of the voters,
To see if there is a national consensus,
On the significant issues the elite and disconnected politicians
Are often forcing down the unwilling throats,
Of the American people.

Would it not be better and more democratic ?
To have the significant issues decided
By the voting people, at the grass roots level,
And getting decisions,
That you know, have the approval of the American people.
And that way, you would know
The American people are behind the decisions

And the decisions are not those, as now,
Of only a very few elite party member politicians,
Who may have been influenced by wealthy corporations,
(And billionaire citizens ) on how to vote on the important issues ?
So their vote will save their corporations scads of money,
Through their making inconsistent tax loop holes.

So, forget about any far away dreams of democracy,
For we have an elite system,
Of party bound politicians,
Making the decisions for you !
And after all, there is lots of money in the right decisions !
(If the politicians happen to vote for the right people.)

As many politicians are sometimes influenced,
In their decisions by having a billionaire,
Or a Super- Pac behind the scenes,
Usually paying their expenses
(Would you believe it ?
That politicians could be influenced,
By those paying their expenses,
And then those paying being reimbursed by many a new tax loop hole ?)

Now would it not be nice and so refreshing ?
Every now and then, yet not too often,
But only once in a while, once in a blue moon,
To let our America citizens do something really odd,
And strangely out of character,
And vote democratically as well as directly on an issue,
At the grass roots level,
And therefore have some direct democratic input from the American voters,
To decide even one tiny and small but significant issue !

And then not leaving all our national decisions to a few elite,
And party bound as well as questionable Washington politicians,
Who abhor the idea of any grass roots decisions,
As they might include the wishes of the people,
And are not done as usual for More Money,
And the intricacies of usually Special Interests.

Remember that our political parties,
Are almost equal in being ineffective,
As President George Bush,a Republican, began the Iraq War,
But then President Barack, Obama, a Democrat,
Withdrew the wining troops from Iraq,
And so created the vacuum,
That opened the doors for ISIL to pour in.

And what do you do with a two party system,
That can’t handle government at either end?
But either party is ineffective,
And all you may do is debate:
Which party is the worst ?
As neither are really effective,
And able to deal with many different situations !

But there is hope for a better future:
As there is a better, faster, and more democratic alternative method,
Which is practiced with success in many other nations,,
And that is referendums of the voting people,
To decide the major issues,
And skip over the elite and ineffective as well as boring politicians,
And their two party system which is frankly unequal to,
And ineffective, in dealing with almost any serious situation.

And if you are weary of hearing about a broken down two party system,
And their inability to make intelligent decisions,
Then you may be interested in;
Referendums of the American voting people,
To decide at the grass roots, the most important national issues,

And then you can dispense with having your government decisions ruined,
By elite politicians who are equally defective in most situations, and some,
If not all, decisions that call for politicians to make them,
Without any direct input of we, the people. (Some democracy?)

While we, the people, should be making the important American decisions,
And not going through elite politicians,
Who are disastrously ineffective
In making nearly all of the national decisions.

While we, the people, are completely fed up,
With the elite politicians bungling nearly every decision,
While the voting folk are also wondering if a dead locked government can be kept open,
Long enough to make one more bad decision through their elite politicians
In a broken two party system.

Now I hope you can realize,
The best way to oppose wicked and elite politicians,
Is to ask for a referendum on the issue,
Where the decision is to be made at the grass roots,
By We, the voting people.

As the elite politicians are absolutely terrified,
Of the feelings at the grass roots,
And the true feelings of the people
That might come out,
In a national referendum of the people,
To vote on some important issue.

So do not despair, but steadfastly hang in there,
When the politicians freak out,
At the idea of national referendums of the voting people,
To decide some of the most important issues !
Since the politicians have been diverting many issues from the people,
Lest they show them very frankly their honest opinions.
Which may be the very last thing,
The politicians want to deal with !
